80s Cartoon Madness!

One of my favorite things to do as a child was to wake up and watch the Saturday Morning programming for children. I would grab my breakfast and head straight for the television set. Here are some of the treasures I watched in no particular order:

Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids– (1972-85)

Super Friends– (1980-82)-

The Tom & Jerry Comedy Show– (1980-82)

Pac-Man– (1982-83)

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe– (1983-85)

She-Ra: Princess of Power– (1985-87)

Dungeons and Dragons– (1985-87)

Heathcliff– (1984-88)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles– (1987-96)

Smurfs– (1981-89)

The Real Ghostbusters– (1986-91)

This show is based on the 1984 movie, Ghostbusters.

Fraggle Rock– (1983-87)

Here are the honorable mentions. I did not necessarily watch these, but they were popular in the 80s:

Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends– (1981-83)

Inspector Gadget– (1983-86)

Transformers– (1984-88)

Voltron– (1984-85)

G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero– (1985-86)

M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand)– (1985-86)

The Care Bears– (1985-88)

Jem (1985-88)

Snorks (1984-89)

Thundercats– (1985-90)

The Adventures of the Gummi Bears– (1985-91)

Just by looking at these pictures and videos, you can tell the 80s were full of imagination and color. Saturday mornings were a load of fun and I couldn’t wait to wake up and get my fill of these exciting shows. Try to see an episode or two. I think you will enjoy them as much as I did. =D

  1. I remember watching some if not all of them Inspector Gadget was my favorite his niece Penny was my first crush when I was a kid

  2. The voice of She Ra is a friend of mines sister. I found out about it when there was an anniversary of the show first coming out. She was interviewed a few times and spoke about the groundbreaking effect on the strong female character role of its day. Look it up if you have a bit of time,.
