The Year Was 1982! Part II

Here is the second act of films from 1982. For the 1st half, please see my “The Year Was 1982!” post. Enjoy!

Poltergeist (MGM)- This film scared the mess out of me, but it is awesome!! =D

Porky’s (20th Century Fox)- I felt like a bad little girl watching this movie! lol

Richard Pryor Live on the Sunset Strip (Columbia Pictures)- Crude, but always funny!

Rocky III (United Artists)- Sylvester Stallone is fantastic as Rocky Balboa. Mr. T and Hulk Hogan are great support for this movie about boxing.

Survivor’s “Eye of The Tiger” helps make the soundtrack a solid hit!

Sophie’s Choice (Universal Pictures)- I did not see this movie, but it is considered to be one of the greatest films of all time. Meryl Streep earned a Best Actress Oscar for her performance.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (Paramount Pictures)- Ricardo Montalbán makes a fantastic villian! KHAN!!! This is my husband’s all time favorite Star Trek film.

The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (Universal Pictures)- How can a film not be enjoyable when Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds are involved in it? =D

This is my favorite version of this song. Whitney is great, but Dolly wrote the song. Beautiful!

The World According to Garp (Warner Bros. Pictures)- A film that has Robin Williams and John Lithgow in it has got to be good! A must see!

Tootsie (Columbia Pictures)- Dustin Hoffman is a riot in this classic hit!

Tron (Buena Vista)- I like this version better than the 2011 one! It is so interesting to see how technology has changed, but I still have a soft spot for what I grew up with! =)

Victor / Victoria (MGM)- I love this film. Julie Andrews is in her element and quite wonderful, but Robert Preston steals the show.

48 Hours (Paramount Pictures)- Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy team up in this comedy about finding a cop killer. Love it!

I hope you have enjoyed this look back at the 1982 theatrical releases. Pick a few of these to watch and have a movie night. Grab some popcorn, candy, soda and put on your pjs. You are set for an outstanding night of fun!
