The Eagle and the Goat

All on one canvas! There is actually a very sweet story behind this painting. A friend of mine moved with her family from one town to another. Her daughter was attached to her old school and participated in many of the school activities. She had lots of friends and was really sad to leave them.

Her mom got ahold of me and asked if I could paint the mascots for the Eagles and the Billies (billy goat.) She wanted real animals with the school symbols as well. I asked what her favorite color was and got started on this fun project.

The map goes on…

Then, the favorite color background goes on and it is … blue!!! 😂

Next, I start work on the eagle and then the goat.

Detail work is done with brushes and finger painting. The images are more defined and the canvas is complete.

Moments That Last Forever: Ruth 1:16

22″x28″ canvas

Oils, (finished on January 23, 2018)

I have to admit, I wasn’t sure how this canvas was going to look. It is an unusual subject matter, but at the heart of it, this is a painting that a mom wanted for her daughter to help her understand a simple thing…

Yes, it is hard to leave your friends, but you never truly leave them. They will always be a part of you. Now, you can have new friendships and new experiences to go with the old. It is all part of who you are.

I think she got the message, cause she seems happy…

Many blessings to you, sweet friend! I hope many happy experiences are ahead for you! Lots of love and hugs, KWG

Next up, Mighty! ❤️🎨🐘
